In order to improve your posture, it's important that you have a game plan in action so when you implement it you can notice a big difference in how you both look and feel. Without learning strategies, you're going to take a guess and test method about it and may not get quite the results you could if you had a solid approach.
Most of us spend significant amounts of time sitting at a desk. And while you may have an ergonomic chair or desk or whatever, your posture can still be sloppy without you realizing that it is. A hot debate right now on growing taller is "Can you grow taller if you have stopped growing?" The answer to this is very simple...once you have stopped growing there is no way of growing again. This is because growth plate fusion occurs which means no more growing. This occurs in the early 20's and people who are short will buy anything to make them taller just to find out that nothing works.
If you desperately want to know how to improve your posture, take a look at yourself in the mirror. Your ears, shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles should form a straight line, or something close to it. However, if you stand too rigid, you will look like an android, so relax your shoulders and legs slightly, but not enough to look like you're slouching, even a bit. A practiced slouch does irreparable harm to the lower back, so it's in your best interests to avoid doing it.
While stretches and exercises do help to enhance growth and health during your puberty years they won't do much help to you once you have passed the puberty marker. This however doesn't mean you are doomed to be that height forever, there are fortunately plenty of alternative methods that you can do to help you become taller.
There are ways to insure you have correct posture. Some of them will take effort, but many of them you can do right now. One of them is to remember to sit up straight. "Head up, back straight and shoulders back," was quoted to me so many times I can hear the voices now.
